You will receive blue Taiwan bees from our regular grade blue bolt tank or blue Taiwan bees that will be mostly blue from our mid grade blue bolt tank. A regular grade blue bolt generally entails that the head of the shrimp will be mostly blue, with the remainder of the body and tail being mostly white with some light blue coloration. The opposite is true for our mostly blue blue bolts. This contrasting blue and white color make them a great addition to any aquarium especially those with plants. The blue bolts will be sold at approximately half an inch in size. The smaller the shrimp are the easier they are to acclimate to your aquarium. The shrimp should be breeding size within about a month after receiving them.
The blue bolts that we sell all have great coloration and have varying levels of blue and white. In the past, Taiwan Bees were considered some of the hardest to keep and breed pet shrimp. Between 2009 and 2014, hobbyists stabilized the Taiwan bee shrimp line giving it more stability in the aquarium. This was achieved by adding in new genetic pools making the Taiwan bee shrimp much easier to keep and breed. For a hobbyist ready to take their hobby to the next level, these shrimp are a great place to start.
Mixing Taiwan Bees
It is great to be aware of the fact that all Taiwan Bee shrimp can be kept in the same tank with out risk of hybridizing. All Taiwan Bee shrimp share similar genetic lines so they will produce shrimp that look similar to the parents. Red King Kongs, Red Pandas, Black King King Kongs, Black Pandas and Blue Bolts can all be kept in the same aquarium.
The following parameters are how we keep our Taiwan Bees:

I ordered 15 blue bolt shrimp about 3 weeks ago. Had one DOA but all the others are going strong. I have ordered from flip before and they are always great! In fact I’m waiting on some other shrimp to be delivered soon!
Blue Bolt Shrimp
I received seven Blue Bolts alive and in healthy condition, despite having ordered six. I acclimated them according to the instructions received. Unfortunately, one didn't survive overnight. I conducted water tests, and everything seemed fine. The remaining six are thriving, and they look stunning!
Buddy is a tank favorite! I’m quite new to the shrimp world, so I’m starting to wonder if the blue bolt shrimp or the bumble bee shrimp get much bigger. Love them both but they don’t seem to get any bigger.
Absolutely loving my Blue Bolt Shrimp and Mystery Snails. They came packed with care. I also got a chuckle out of the cute Swedish fish in the box. My little creatures are happy and healthy. I accidentally ordered one shrimp instead of two and the staff got back to me quickly to adjust my order. Will definitely be using Flip Aquatics more in the future. Thanks guys!!
