Cherry shrimp are one of the most, if not the most popular shrimp in the hobby. There are various reasons hobbyist love Cherry shrimp, their stunning color that pops in any aquarium, or their hardiness. They are accustomed to aquarium life and therefore arerelatively easy to keep. If you are looking for an easier shrimp option or just getting into the hobby, amano shrimp are the hardiest shrimp we offer and can serve as an amazing cleanup crew for your aquarium.
Cherry shrimp can take up to 3 weeks to color up after shipping. The stress of shipping combined with the darkness of the shipping box can result in the shrimp losing their color.
The grading of cherry shrimp is as follows:
Cherry shrimp in general refers to the lowest grade of Red Neocaridina aquarium shrimp. Regular cherry shrimp are generally pretty clear.
Sakura cherry shrimp are a more intense red color. While still possessing clear patches, Sakura shrimp are more solid in color than regular cherry shrimp.
Fire red shrimp is the next grade and refers to shrimp that are completely red. Painted Fire Red shrimp are the last and highest grade.
Painted fire red shrimp are completely solid in color and have no transparent patches. Painted fire red shrimp usually have red legs as well.

All arrived alive and happy. Acclimated for 2 hours then put in with shrimp buddies. Plenty of hiding spaces, but out in open giving me joy. Love watching my shrimp more than tv.
So far, so good! The 10 Cherry shrimp purchased (12 delivered) are doing great! All except for 2 are coloring up nicely. Wondering if the other 2 are from the "skittles" batch but no matter, they are awesome just the same. I'm not looking to breed for sale, but hoping they'll breed just to keep stock in my shrimp tank, and hopefully to put some larger shrimp in my display tank that the tiger barbs won't eat! They all arrived healthy and active, and are acclimating perfectly to their new environment. Thank you, Flip Aquatics, for the great stock & experience. 😊
Arrived great, however my angel dish had a field day!
I received my Red Cherry Shrimp 6 days ago. Placed them in the tank after 7 hours using the drip method I placed them in the tank. I haven't seen them since. Where are they?
